How do you import lyric slides into ProPresenter, OpenLP, EasyWorship or FreeShow?
Short answerBuild the setlist in Lyslide, press "Export" and pick the format: PPTX for ProPresenter, EasyWorship, PowerPoint, Keynote, Google Slides and Canva; OpenLyrics for OpenLP, Quelea and FreeShow; or FreeShow's own format. There are 7 formats, all free.
Steps
- Press "Export"
Below the preview panel. Pressing it is the format list, and it is never locked whatever step you are on. → Export: choosing a format - Pick the right format
ProPresenter, EasyWorship → PPTX. OpenLP, Quelea → OpenLyrics. FreeShow → OpenLyrics or its own FreeShow format. → Export: choosing a format - Download
One-file-per-song formats are zipped automatically, named after the service and date. A failed download can be retried without redoing anything. → Export options, packaging, file names - Import it in your presentation software
Open the downloaded file with that program's own import.
Which format is for what
- PPTX (PowerPoint slides): the default, built to survive PowerPoint, Keynote, Google Slides, ProPresenter, EasyWorship and Canva.
- PDF slides: one slide per page, for projecting.
- PNG image sequence: one image per slide, zipped.
- Lyrics PDF: a printable songbook, not slides.
- OpenLyrics: straight into OpenLP, FreeShow or Quelea.
- FreeShow: FreeShow's own format.
- Plain-text lyrics.
FAQ
- Some songs are missing from the exported file?
- Songs with no running order are left out, and the export tells you which. Set their order in paragraph mode first.
- Can I go the other way and bring an OpenLP library in?
- Yes. The new-project screen imports an OpenLyrics library (in bulk from a zip) or a .lyslide project file. Import always creates a new project and cannot overwrite anything. There is no OpenSong import.
- Can I skip choosing a format every time?
- Yes. In Settings & More → Account & Settings, turn "Ask for a format each time" off; your default format then applies straight away.
